Abstract2
From Govcamp
Below is my abstract for the GovCamp on September 21, Brussels. A number of different sources exist for obtaining blog entries about a specific item, e.g. e-inclusion. End users in most cases don't want to browse through many different blog sites or blog aggregators. They want a clear overview of what is being discussed on the Web, without duplicate or irrelevant entries. This requires an approach where the information coming from different aggregators (e.g. Technorati, Google and MSN blog search,...) to be merged, processed and distributed. The process-step combines manual and automatic processing, and involves knowledge of the specific item.
LodgON is working with Indigov, an Interdisciplinary Center for the Digital Government, to set up a processing system for e-inclusion. The core of such a system has to import entries from different streams, give them a priority and a score, allow the manual processor to assign different tags or scores. Ultimately, entries will be put in one or more "channels" that are suitable for the end user, and that contain information that passed the automatic and human "relevance filters".
